Safe guarding

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding means protecting children and adults from abuse, harm, or neglect. Everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, and cared for.

At Aylesbury Surgery, we are committed to keeping our patients safe.

  • We take safeguarding seriously for children, young people, and vulnerable adults
  • All staff are trained to recognise and respond to safeguarding concerns
  • We work closely with local health, social care, and support services

Types of abuse

Abuse can take many forms, including:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional or psychological abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Financial abuse
  • Neglect or self-neglect
  • Domestic abuse

Signs to look out for

You may notice:

  • Sudden changes in behaviour or mood
  • Unexplained injuries
  • Poor hygiene or living conditions
  • Fear of certain individuals
  • Withdrawal or isolation

If something doesn’t feel right, it’s important to speak up.
